NEWS RELEASE
Tom Dacey Appointed to Fair Rent Commission
March 1, 2024
PRESS RELEASE
The Wallingford Town Council recently formed a Fair Rent Commission in accordance
with Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 7-148b. The Council anticipates that this
commission will hear complaints from tenants about grossly excessive rents and
inappropriate living conditions. The Commission will have the authority to make
decisions regarding these conditions.
As such, the Council is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in serving on this
Commission. The full Commission will be five full members and two alternate members.
The Commission must include one tenant and one landlord to serve as Commissioners.
Any applicant must be an elector in Wallingford, i.e. registered to vote.
If a resident feels that this is a way that he or she could contribute to their community,
or for more information, please see the town web site, at www.wallingfordct.gov and
find the Fair Rent Commission in the “Recent News.”
The Council expects to interview and appoint Commissioners in April of this year. The
Council appreciates your consideration of this important service to our community.
