About Tom

Tom grew up in North Haven, the youngest of nine. He has five older brothers and three older sisters. In 1984 graduated from North Haven High School, then in 1993 graduated from the Sawyer Business School certificate program in business systems and accounting.

 

Talking With Tom debuted in January 1994 on the North Haven cable access network under the direction of Walter Mann. Tom was also joined by local musician Tony Persia Who served as his musical director and composed the original Talking With Tom theme song. Tom also had a show on Wallingford public access for many years (WPAA) under the direction of Jason Burghardt and Eric Michael Schrader. 

 

Tom has spotlighted many local organizations and leaders from the community. He has also been an advocate for the disabled. Tom also hosts an annual fundraiser, "Tommy Palooza." Where he has helped raise funds for numerous nonprofits. He was formally Vice President of the Wallingford Housing Tenant Council. He is currently a member of the Wallingford Democratic town committee since March 2022 and the Treasurer for the Cable Advisory Council of South Central Connecticut.

About Ed

Ed McCarver has been Tom's Broadcast partner since 2004. He started his broadcast career as a news reporter for radio station WMMW in the early '70s.

 

Following a long career at SNET, Ed returned to the airways in 1998 at WPAA, a public access television station in Wallingford, Connecticut. There he covered a number of local news and sports stories, along with co-hosting Wednesday Night Live, an interview and call-in show with Host John Sullivan,

 

In his spare time, Ed is an avid long-distance runner and a member of the Wallingford Community Theatre. He and his wife Maureen live in the Ridgeland section of Wallingford.
